Nuclear physics : Towards improved modelling of complex systems
7 05 2009Three researchers from the University of Huelva (Spain), the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the GANIL (CEA-CNRS), have put forward a mathematical method to improve the specification of the collective properties of systems which are as complex as atomic nuclei.
This theoretical scientific advance was the subject of an article published on the 20th of March 2009 in “Physical Review Letters”. The three theorists have presented a method to identify, among the potential modes of interaction between nucleons, those which are the most pertinent to low energy nuclear properties (experimentally accessible).
