Since the 16th of January, Dr Valentin Valtchev, Dr Svetlana Mintova and eight other researchers from Mulhouse have joined the Catalysis and Spectrochemistry Laboratory (LCS – CNRS – ENSICAEN – UCBN Laboratory) in Caen. Thanks to this new research and development expertise in the field of porous nanomaterials, the LCS now boasts the finest skills in materials and catalysis.

Within the CHU in Caen, the University’s “Mobility: cognition and temporality” laboratory, recently certified by the INSERM, is currently measuring the impact of medicinal drug consumption, particularly sleeping pills, on road safety. This work is part of the European DRUID programme, aimed at establishing the influence of psychotropic drugs on driving.

Pushing back the frontiers of research

Via its FPRTD (Framework Programme for Research and Development), the European Union stimulates the employment of young researchers by facilitating their mobility throughout its territory. The CIMAP and the CRISMAT, both CNRS-ENSICAEN-UCBN laboratories, are actively involved in such programmes via their RAINBOW and SOPRANO projects, developed and negotiated by researchers in close partnership with the CNRS’ Normandy delegation.
